Engine access panel on 'F'

Hi Guys,



Just started work on my 97 Mk1 VVC cambelt job.

Got her up on ramps/stands. Took the n/s rear wheel off to find a loose fabric panel protecting the crank pulley area. It was held on with just two cable ties around the hydragas pipe. A bit like a cushion, soft and puffy.



Is this normal? It looks factory made.



I think TFs have a plastic panel that comes off with plastic poppers.
