Battery warning light wiring
I have a diesel O2 75 club se and am trying to trace a battery warning light charge fault.
1.Can anyone tell me where the two wires ( pin1 brown green pin 2 blue ) from the spring clipped alternator plug run to.
2 Which wire displays the charge light on the dash, and where it is fed from.
I only have a ****** manual and as you know, it's as much use as a concrete parachute.
I've cleaned greased the earth cable from alt >starter>battery
Battery holds charge 12.7, alternator output 14.3.
I installed the voltage regulator suspecting it's brushes may be approaching being worn out, they were well worn and I thought this may have cured it, but not so.
The battery light was present before new voltage regulator that's recently been installed, but remains after it's fitting.
I don't want to shell out for a new alternator if a wiring fault is present, hence need the checks carrying out first.
I know there is the possibility of a diode/ diodes being goosed in the alternator itself, but before I commit limited funds I want to know there is no other cause of this fault, or if there are any other checks I can make to trace it.Given the battery seems ok, and the alternator charging ok.
Cheers
