Have I got the beginning of the dreaded tractor syndrome?

Very occasionally the ZS will idle like a bag of nails, sounds a bit rough and you can feel the vibration when sat in it. It only happens once in a while and apart from that it drives fine, no loss of power or mpg, just this very occasional bad idle.



Is it likely to be the start of the typical VP30 timing solenoid failure or could it be something else? Engine is standard at the moment except for SDi's and EGR blank.
