Recommended head units for High Line

What's the latest state of play regarding head units?



I have an '02 Conn. with High Line but the Sat Nav unit is knackered leaving me without a display (everything else works). I suppose I could get a replacement drive (what do I look for? is there a later/better BMW unit that fits?) or thought I could maybe change to a new Chinese head unit.



I've had a look at some but there is a bewildering array of types and prices.
