A post gauge pod

A few have asked where I got this from

Sadly no one makes an 'off the shelf' item

So I made my own.. This is my second.. Andy Watson had the first one..

You take the standard A post trim.. And one of these

It will require a fair amount trimmed off it to get it anywhere near fitting..

Then sand the A post trim until its smooth..

Then test fit the pod on the trim.. Draw around it.. And drill a LOT of 4mm holes in both the pod and the trim.. The reason being the tiger seal will seep into the holes and provide a better bond

The original one I did I tried super glue.. Didn't work.. Tried 2 part epoxy.. Nope

So tried tiger seal.. And its great.. But deffo fill with holes to improve he bond

Then fibre glass paste to smooth the two together.. Again drilling holes to help it key

Then body filler.. More sanding.. Yet more sanding.. And you end up with something looking OME

So someone's now gonna ask WHY?

Well.. If like me.. You want a double DIN head unit (I phone mirror unit and reversing camera) then you loose the two gauge places..

I also need a wide band Lambda sensor for the Emerald.. Leaving me two gauge spaces..

I'm also going for something a little trick with the speedo rev counter etc..

Double din surround needs more work.. The three holes are for LEDs.. Engine bay fan.. And one for each rad fan..
