mg zr 160 timing belt tensioner

As title says really i have done the steps that you are suppose to fallow but had the car idling today and when you rev the engine the timing belt seems to move abit to much on the longest part which suggests its not tight enough ? any ideas would be great as i haven't done one of these tensioners before but seemed to be correct
