£6k Cylinder Head Gasket Failure.
Currently watching the "Close Result Expected" Scottish YES/NO coverage on various news channels. Interesting stuff.
Also browsing at the same time other car sites. Now many K-Series CHG so called failures could the travelling mechanics here fix for 6k ? Yes, 6k for a BMW M3 :~
Reminds me of a BMW owning work colleague about ten years ago. Nice car with straight six engine ~ but, guess what? Cylinder head gasket failure.
At that time, I had placed an Advert on the firm's notice board for my 620ti for sale @ £1200. He responded and asked to have a look and drive in the Lunch Break. Long story short, before he saw it let alone drove it he said he did not expect the Rover to be as nice and as fast as his 5-Series. He was wrong on both counts! Not the first to be surprised at just how fast and what a nice place to be a well maintained Rover 620ti could be. He was straight round to the Building Society for cash.
Not long afterwards, saw his Bee-Em in a local breaker yard.
