Central locking - any ideas?!
Evening all,
Just wondering if anyone could help with an issue I've got with my mk1 ZR 105 at the moment. I recently decided to change the central locking motor/latch unit on the drivers side front door as it was making the infamous grinding noise when locking/unlocking. Everything was working fine before I changed the until, I did so as a precautionary measure. I replaced the unit with a replacement I got off ebay; one that had two plugs.
After putting everything back together I'm now faced with the following;
1. When unlocking the car using the fob, none of the door pins raise up
2. Unlocking the car on the fob disarms the car and then allows me to unlock and open the drivers side door with the key. When doing so, it is only the drivers side front door pin that raises up; the other 3 stay down
3. The passenger front door won't unlock or open from the inside (or from the outside either) and the pin just feels limp. Note this door was fine before I changed the CL unit on the drivers door so I know its mechanically sound. I believe it to be an electrical problem
4. I can open the back doors by lifting the pins from inside the car
5. When locking the car on the fob, the drivers door pin goes down but the indicator lights don't flash hence indicating a mis lock (allthough all doors are locked).
Any ideas how I could get the CL to work normally? Again, I suspect a bit of an electrical issue somewhere.
Thanks in advance!
