re: New MGTF owner - window and tyres advice needed
Hi,
Just acquired my new car - somehow my plans for a sensible low cost, reliable car turned into buying a 05 plate MGTF soft top in blue with 70k on the clock. Perfect for the coming winter...d
Anyway, I've identified a few issues that need addressing and hoping someone might be able to help as I'm new here with zero experience of MGs.
1. Passenger window stuck (up thankfully). There's no motor noise and I have tried an alternative fuse to no avail, so guessing that there is an electrical fault? Any idea how much costs would be on this?
2. Water under carpet on passenger side. I felt the carpets when buying the car and tops were dry, but didn't try underneath (my bad). Presume this is air heater seal leak? Again any idea how much for a repair?
3. Tyres. There's two Pirelli P6000s on the front (185/55) a Continental (205/50) on the rear passenger side and a new Avon 2V5 (205/50) on the back. Doesn't sound like a great combination to me, thinking that maybe I should get another Continental. Wear on all non-new tyres is okay.
4. Not sure if the fun tyre combination is responsible for this but took it on the Motorway yesterday and had a couple of interesting moments when the car slewed like it had been caught be a crosswind. Is this likely to be just tyres.
5. And finally, bear with me folks, any recommendations for a good and reasonably priced MG repair place in Bristol?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
