Rover 25 1.4 - Oil Leak
Hello All,
I recently purchased a 1.4 K series with a blown CHG. The head gasket was duly changed and the car has been running brilliantly for the last 1000 miles or so.
However, I've recently noticed that certain sections of the manual g/box look discoloured, as if stained from within.
On further inspection, I noticed a small drop of oil forming on the underside edge of the gearbox / engine joint. This oil appears to be engine oil, still clean due to the new head gasket having been recently fitted.
Does anyone recognise these symptoms? I'm thinking it's possibly the engine sump gasket or, worse, the cranshaft oil seal at the flywheel end.
Any thoughts or advise on this one would be much appreciated.
Would an oil leak additive help stem the leak? I'd rather not have to remove the g/box if poss!
