Rover 25 Hesitant on acceleration

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I have looked and couldn't find a similar topic...

Okay here's the background:-

Had an exhaust centre and rear section fitted a few weeks ago, and a couple of day's after the problems arose, firstly there was a rattle coming from the rear silencer, which turned out to be the rear silencer heat shield had corroded and was rattling against the exhaust.. (all sorted now though) :)

The second problem is still ongoing though, the car holds back and splutters when accelerating. I took it back to the garage that done the exhaust and they said that it wouldn't be anything to do with the exhaust change that they did, and said it maybe a problematic MAP sensor, so I phoned round a few more garages who advised me that it was very unlikely anything to do with the exhaust change and that the MAP sensor was a good bet.

I changed the MAP sensor and decided to change the spark plugs while I was at it, as they had been in a while now, but unfortunately still no change... :(

Somebody please help, I can't really afford to do much more to the car having been made redundant from my work, and in order for me to get to interviews I need my car working again...

Very many thanks in advance

Ian
