Can a HGF be fixed twice?
Hello,
I've had a look on the forum but cannot see anyone asking this question, so sorry if it has already been addressed...
I have had head gasket failure on my 97 F and would like to have this repaired. However my garage have said that they can only do this if the head gasket has not been Skimmed before. According to them the only way that they can tell if the head gasket has been skimmed before is to start taking the engine apart.
I wonder if you can tell me if this is true, that a head gasket can only be repaired once and also if it is correct that the only way you can tell if the head gasket has been repaired is to take the engine apart.
Thanks for your help,
edit: can anyone recommend a garage in Scotland (south/ central belt) to do this work
