MGF misfire
Hi all
My 2001 1.8 MPi (non-vvc) has had an annoying problem for a while now.
On starting, quite often it will splutter & run lumpy for around 30-60secs then clear itself. After that it runs fine. The spluttering occurs only after starting, and seems to be pretty random. It always clears after a minute or so, then it runs fine. It's done it for the last three years but seems to be getting worse.
Last year I stripped the head off, replaced the head gasket with a payen, fitted new bolts, new belts, tensioner, water pump etc. It's only got 43K miles and is absolutely pristine :-) All servicing is up to date.
Today I plugged in my OBD2 scan tool, and even though the MIL light is not on, got the following three codes
1- P0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit bank
2- P0301- Cylinder 1 misfire
3- P0313- Misfire low fuel
I'm guessing the cam sensor could be responsible for all these codes ?
Anyone know if the cam sensor is common to all K series engines ? If so I'll try one from a scrapper first.
Seems that the car runs great apart from this annoying problem at start up
Any suggestions welcome
cheers
