Speedo not working...but everything else is Okay

Hi everyboby:

I just bought (ready for the junk yard from the point of view of the owner) a 2000 85,000 miles Rover 75 2.5 Club for my son for only 200 quids!!

Actually owning a 2.5 Tourer for 7 years already bringing to live this new baby was an easy proyect.

The car was okay but need it a little bit of love, so after changing the timing belt, water pump, water thermostat, new sparkplugs, new filters, engine oil and a new battery and the engine crank back to life and I can say that it´s sounds better than my Tourer...!!!

Engine fine, transmission, clutch fine, so we got to the inside to disassemble seats and carpet to clean it up because inside was....full of dirt...!!!!. Well after recovering the original beauty of the interiors. We were ready for the Maiden voyage... To our surprise the speed indicator wasn´t working… and the ABS Warning lights goes on…!!!

Taking a step-by-step checkup we replace the front ABS sensor because the cables got loose with the result of been broken out and hopping that this will cure our problem.

With the new ABS sensors the warning light goes off, a Hard braking activate the ABS control, but the speed indicator it´s death.

At this point we´re open to any thoughts about our problem. It is possible that our problem is the panel cluster?

Kind regards

Joel Antonio and son.
