aircon/dehumidifier

my air con is empty and needs refilling, so doesn't blow cold. i'm gonna refill it in the summer, but in the meantime i'm wondering if it will still dehumidify the cabin? i've got some ambient moisture in there that gives me major misting on the interior in this cold weather - will running the aircon help get rid of some of the moisture if it is empty?
