Bad moisture in MG ZR 160

I have an issue with my MG ZR 160 where there is quite bad damp / moisture in the car when not used for maybe a day. The other week i got in my car in the morning and had so much water condensation on the inside of the windscreen i had to use a towel to soak most of it up before getting my heaters on full.

It wasn't until the next day i realised i left my head unit box on the floor of the rear passenger footwell and the box was quite damp and had water patches on it. Luckily i had an old head unit in here which still works but the box went straight in the bin. The carpet on the floor seemed a little damp in the rear of the car and i had a look in the boot where i noticed it was even worse as when i lifted up the carpet which is quite thin the metal chassis was quite wet. I need to get a proper boot inlay as the current one is really thin and has a sheet of plywood covering the spare wheel which also was so wet it just crumbled in my hands.

The plywood may have been the issue i thought so i have removed this and it's still quite bad. I try to drive the car more often to prevent this and the rear washer pipe has been snapped so this didn't help when i was trying to operate this the other week.

I have had this issue on a previous rover which was my first Rover 200 and i asked an old friend who used to work at Rover and he told me the Seals are quite common to wear which results in this happening. I have a concern that the SCU may get damaged due to this if it hasn't already as my drivers one touch window doesn't work and the fob range is terrible.

Has anyone else had similar issue with the Rover 200, 25 and MG ZR models or this is the same on most of the range of cars. I'm hoping there may be an easy way to 'fix' this if it can be done but i have no idea on where to start as it could be the boot seal, windscreen seal or anywhere else on the car. At least i have air conditioning and no sun roof as my Mom's ZR had a terrible sunroof leak !!

Cheers, :)
