Front Hoodwell Seal
Happy new year to you all!
As I am not fussed about celebrating a concept of time I may find myself outside today or perhaps tomorrow fitting a new hoodwell seal to hopefully stop the leaking, or at least lessen it.
This is the big seal that stretches over the window frame to hood and down each door frame acting as a seal on the front edge of the door window and cheater.
I will try and take some pics on here as I go to show the difference in seal.
I have checked the door glass height and all is well. On this point it is sometimes assumed that if the glass catches on the top seal (the one that folds with the hood) that this means the glass is too high. Not necessarily so and can be more a case of that seal deforming too much to provide an indent that catches the window.
I sorted the the top corner of the glass (where it curves) by adding a short piece of rubber to plump out. I actually used an old coolant hose, the one from the jiggle valve! Works a treat.
Well this new seal cost £140 so lets see how it goes as I have heard that it can be a bit short where it joins the bottom door edge!
