Mk2 switch blank help,

One of mine has broken. The blank bit has come away and I have lost it leaving a hole. A mate of mine's given me a couple of spares but they are attached to big plastic sleeve things which fit behind the centre console.



I don't want to go through the palava of getting the centre console out.



So, how do I remove the swich blank bit from the pastic sleeve?
