Amazing head gasket fix
Haven't posted on here for a while but this deserves one:
Came across this mirical in a bottle called steel seal. Every rover owner should get some to save their engine. It's so easy to use. I even made a how to:
Step one:
Buy some steel seal and drain Mayo
Step 2:
Fill Mayo maker with coolant and steel seal.
Step 3:
Never worry about hg failure again.
Now to be serious for a moment. After planning to take a look through at the auctions this week to pick up something else my car decided to have one last laugh by raising the temp gauge a little to and from work. Long story short I'm pretty sure it's exhaust gasses in the coolant causing it to over pressurise. There was already slight oil and water mixture for about 7 months before so surprised it's gone this long.
Anyway I need the car to last me a few more days at the very least so decided I'd give this a go. It will be coming off the road real soon for a slow restoration and k-turbo or t conversion so this engine won't be needed.
I know there's a lot of mixed reviews on this stuff as well as alternatives. Personally I wouldn't use them on an engine I planned on keeping but this is just a stop gap. I'll update this thread with any progress incase others are tempted in future.
