MoT repairs following test fail of my better half's MG ZS.
Fully prepared to replace the "failed" Off Side Outer CV-J Rubber Boot, loosened rear exhaust flange ( corroded bolt ) allowing gas escape ( emissions ) and rear brake pads ( one pad below legal limit). However, asked the Innsworth, Gloucester based one sometimes two-man repair outfit I've used occasionally for over twenty years how much if I supply the parts myself. He quoted a price which I was pleased to accept. The old joints do not like working underneath cars much now and not worth getting my hands dirty for such a good quote. Car ready two hours later.
He's a keen car/bike enthusiast and loves Big Yankee cars... has at least one Cadillac and an ex US-Army 4x4 Truck still in camouflage livery. In the back of his workshop was a real rarity ... A Cotton Motor Cycle. Cottons made in Gloucester and back in the 1970s, I got them to paint and oven bake a stripped, sand blasted motorcycle frame for me. Best of all, the owner of the repair outfit turned up on this superb Blast from the 1961 Past.
Anyone in the Gloucester area needing work on their cars I can thoroughly recommend ... Good prices and fine standard of work from this Automotive enthusiast.... pm for more info.
