I have a 2.5L 177hp Rover 75. Can someone, WHO KNOWS WITH CERTAINTY PLEASE, advise if the notches in the rear timing pulleys are supposed to be aligned when the engine is locked in the safe position? The reason I ask is that if the front timing tools are fitted, the rear sprocket holding tool does not fit (and it only does fit when the notches are perfectly aligned).
