Fan housing attachment - floppy at the bottom

The fan housing bolts to the radiator framework - this is an integral part of the radiator, not a separate item. Earlier radiators have a tendency to rust, and from your description, it sounds as though the framework along the bottom of the radiator has rusted and broken away at each end. It probably means it is time to replace the radiator.
