Heater Blower Resistor Pack Repair (with pics)
Here's my version of the heater blower resistor pack repair I've just completed on Squeaky, my MG TF 2004...
I used Mundorf MResist MOX 10W 2% Resistors from eBay purchased at a cost of less than £4 from Audiohobby.eu in the Netherlands.
The resistances used were 0.22, 0.68 and 1.5 Ohm.
I used some heat shrink plastic sleeve (red) to cover the wiring, although it's cosmetic and likely unnecessary.
I used a wire harness around the top of the resistors to keep them in a straight line, also covered in heat shrink sleeve (black).
I bound the resistors in the harness using some Samco Stretch & Seal Self Amalgamating Tape (black) that I had left over from another job.
On testing they all worked first time and showed no signs of heat build-up even on the lowest setting.
I'm a novice on electrics and can testify that this job can be tackled in a couple of hours.
