Carbon Fibre Wrapped Binnacle finally fitted
I've been messing about with glass fibre for a while now but recently decided to have a go with Carbon Fibre. It all started with a cracked instrument binnacle which I took off and made several moulds from. One was a disaster, one was terrible, one was not quite terrible and the last one was good enough to use. I made a couple of binnacles but one was a bit misshapen so as it wasn't good enough to use I decided to have a go at carbon wrapping.
Here is the results.
It is a long way from perfect as I made a few mistakes while doing it but in a way that adds to the effect. I once had a close look at the back of a F1 Ferrari and the CF was a bit rough. Have to say though I am pleased with the result.
