Changing Bulbs

Noticed recently that one of my recently installed headlight bulbs was no more and had to go through the tiresome job of fitting new ones.

On my Mk6 Fester you have no opinion but to remove the headlamp to fit bulbs off the car. Even the owners manual tells you to do this so what can you do.

I know 75 are as bad having to do do through the inner arch so got wondering why manufacturers make such a simple job such a nightmare.

The EU burdens us with ludicrous regulations on car necessities such as DLRs and insists we carry bulb kids when travelling abroad but if you need a four poster ramp and heavy lifting gear to change even a simple headlight bulb isn't it about time they looked at insisting manufacturers make fitting any bulb a five minute job with a minimum of tools.

New mondeo have 2 knobs you undo which allows instant access and after that it's a 5 minute job. If things can be that simple why can they do that on all cars or better be induced to do so by law
