Ffs another issue with rover 220 sdi
Yet again I seem to have another problem with my rover 200.
My car has been intermittently lacking power and feels like fuel cut off or starvation for a second when driving.
I have now managed to pinpoint and replicate the symptoms.
In gears 3-5 if you try to press the accelerator all the way down to accelerate quickly it bogs down for a second and a puff of white smoke comes out at 2k rpm.
If you gently press the accelerator so it gets past 2k it's fine.
What could it be, I have some ideas:
1. Injector number 1 - signs of chafing so I've repaired as best I can.
2. Air in fuel system - bled system, no air bubbles.
3.pump timing - will check today or tomorrow.
4. Bad batch of fuel - used premium shell v power, still does it.
5. Fuel filter - recently changed
What could it be as it's not nice to drive at the moment as I can't overtake particularly well when the power is needed.
Thanks in advance
