Forum paranoia syndrome!

Do you suffer from forum paranoia syndrome?



I do. Since I got my MGF nearly 2 years ago, I've never driven it more than 50 miles in one go. Have never needed to, or had an excuse to. Usually just to work and back.



I decided to give it a run to Edinburgh at weekend and back today, but it was a trip riddled with paranoia.



Nearly 2 years of constant exposure to threads such as:



- MOT Fail

- Is this HGF ??

- Overheating issues

- Snapped gear cable

- Help, stuck at motorway services

- Another MOT fail

- many many more....



Has made me paranoid. I've realised now I get to see so many of other peoples issues, its actually held me back from just trusting my own car !!



I realise ive never taken it on a long run before because of fear of catastrophic failure.



On the way up, 225 miles, I cant tell you how tentatively I drove it! Constantly checking coolant temp, oil temp every 2 minutes, keeping revs / speed modest etc. Can I smell coolant, is that my clutch I can smell... you get my point.



But I got there trouble free. And on the way back, I drove it like it should be driven !!



Yet it didn't let me down and I enjoyed the trip massively !! Certainly must do it again soon...



Deep down I knew it would be ok because I look after it.



Was it just me then.... ?? Or do you suffer from FPS too ??
