Jammed Ignition barrel HELP

The Ignition Barrel on my 75 Tourer now fails to allow the key to enter unless the Steering wheel is in the ‘lock’ position. Prior to this the key could be entered in any position of the steering wheel and I can still do this on my 75 saloon. So it appears I have a problem. Some threads suggest working some Graphite into the barrel – done this, no better. Some suggest trying Carburettor Cleaner – this did not correct things and it is still impossible to get the key in unless the steering wheel is in the ‘lock’ position.

SO, does anyone have a technical understanding as to what is going on inside the barrel and whether this means it will soon block key entry even in the 'locked steering wheel ' position? Or is it likely I can keep using this barrel for a long time but will from now on only be able to insert the key when in the 'locked steering wheel' position. Or do I have to go out and find a new barrel + key + drivers door lock pretty quickly?

Does anyone know a garage in the Guildford / South East that still has good enough expertise in R 75's to look at this or replace the barrel?

( to do this I am pretty sure one needs remove the Transponder ring from current live barrel and move it onto a replacement barrel ?)
