LE500 Chrome gear shift gaiter assembly

I had one delivered today from MGFnTbitz cost £48.



The literature in the ad says genuine automotive part, triple chromed and polished and will fit a 99 MGF ..... like mine.



It's actually plastic ! and I have found no way of making it fit.



obviously I,m going to call them in the morning. But I wondered if any other forum member had purchased one of these and how they got on.
