MOT fail (SRS question)

SRS light has been on for a few months, had an early MOT to see what needed doing as well and the good news is nothing else is wrong



Bad news is they got it on a T4 and the SRS error code is "ECU internal fault - safing sensor not closed" and couldn't be cleared



I've ordered a second hand SRS ecu but if that doesn't clear it does anyone know of anything that could cause this fault without it being the ECU itself (wiring etc?)
