Cursed central locking
I've just bought two new Pektron key fobs for my 2005 ZR160. By new of course, they're probably 9 years old now but were sold as new and unused, in the factory packet (off ebay). They were programmed by a local firm using the proper software (ie, not some Chinese rip off).
They worked nicely at first but then started the messing around described below. I changed the batteries in both. Immediate improvement but they rapidly returned to their old habits (I've tried both fobs).
Sometimes the car unlocks the first time you hit the button. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries, others it takes more. Sometimes stepping back from the car appears to help.
If it's failed to unlock after a few attempts, unlocking with the key, relocking with the key fob, then unlocking with the fob appears to work first time every time.
So what gives? Is the sodding car cursed and this its latest assault on my sanity?
