Front end noise - HELP!!!

Hello all,



So these past couple of weeks the front end of my car has started making a horrible noise from the front.It sounds like a clunking/creaking noise. It is really loud and you'd probably associate it with something bouncing around and moving on another piece of metal, or a bit of metal that is under too much tension and wants to break.



I took it to the garage yesterday and.... they found nothing!!! Couldn't even hear the noise!!!! I don't know how - it is there all the time up until about 30mph.



Everything is out from under the bonnet (wheel, jack bag, the big plastic cover). The noise is there whether the bonnet is down or up. It is there whether the wheels are on or not. It is there if you shake or bounce the car when standing still. It is more noticeable on roads with an incline. It doesn't matter if you stop with or without the brakes, it starts up at around 20mph until stopped (an vice versa).



It is driving me mad. Any ideas or help please?
