Getting some bits resprayed, thoughts?
Ok, so I have finally got round to sorting my sideskirts out.
Contacted the Bodyshop and got quoted £150 for the pair.
I also asked for a quote for each bumper as they are both the wrong shade and its pretty clear under certain light! He quoted me £150 for each bumper.
When I arrived to discuss it over in detail with him, I pointed out a few marks/bits on the car I want touching up/sorted and he said he could do them for me with no charge when he was doing the skirts.
I then asked him about attaching the skirts. As mine left the factory without they have no mounting bits and MK2 skirts aren't the same as MK1 skirts.
There is 1 end cap (which I have) and from what I can find out, they used clips (like door card clips) to secure the skirt into the sill (drilled holes).
I asked the guy his thoughts and what he thought about Tigerseal and he said he would definitely recommend using something else. He suggested making up a template, and drilling the holes, then painting the holes (to seal them from rust) and use clips, similar to OEM. I asked him if he could do it and costs, he quoted me £40 for each skirt.
So basically its:
-Skirts £150 (£230 fitted)
-Front Bumper £150
-Rear Bumper £150
-Total: £530
He quoted me 3 Days for the work.
My main queries are:
Is the cost about right?
Anything I should ask for/check?
Has anyone else tried fitting MK2 skirts before?
I'm tempted to ask him to do the lot for £500, if not I might just get the Skirts (fitted) & Front Bumper done.
