Mk2 2.0TD Air-Con Fault - Activates on its own

There is a silly fault with the other halfs Mk2 25, never been a fan of the Mk2

internals, they look great but there built rubbish, the Air-Con switches on and

off at random, the light flickers on and off on the switch, I removed the engine

bay fuse which has stopped it but the light on the switch still flickers.



Could it be a faulty dash switch ?



Any other suggestions ?



AC works by the way when you activate it, ice cold, but when it comes on

and off you can't turn it off.
