retro fit a vp37 diesel pump?

after a failed vp30 pump going on me 1 mile from going on m1 motorway I was wondering if it was possible to fit a older mechanical pump on my zrtd 04 plate? I know I would have to change injectors and fly by wire throttle cable its just the electrics? love the car its only done 62k but do a lot of motorway miles and the thought of it cutting out like it did in the fast lane is frightening? will have to sell if I cannot be done? cheers
