Rover 75(2004 Cdti)Boot Lock Failure

Hi all, my Boot lid has failed to open via the internal switch, is it possible that a related fuse has blown or has the lock itself had it, managed to open from inside removing the boot lid trim, not a good idea not to have a key lock on the boot though in case of situations just like this....:confused:
