Adjusting handbrake

Struggling to turn the handbrake nut to tighten as on 6-7 clicks on my 75.



Am I missing something? Not tried a deep socket yet just spanner. Around 30mm thread protruding, wondered if cable has streched beyond tolerance and adjustment has bottomed out?
