Colour Coding Mudflaps

Not specific to F/TF's but I have spotted a few whilst out and about.



Has anyone on here coded their 'flaps'? What I'm looking for is advice on prep and what primer to use. As far as base and clear coat goes, I am assuming this will be as per panels etc?
