Front splitter

It seems that i have acquired a front splitter for the Blue MPi. Looking online it looks like the KH Assemblies one and it's used. So will need to sort out suitable fixings.



Not sure if it's easier to do it with the bumper off butt hat's the way it's beign done as Blues front bumper is damaged and have a far better one of the correct colour to go on so might as well fit teh splitter before fitting the bumper onto her.



Now the questions are:-



Would it be advisable to use some sort of mastic between splitter and bumper between the mating surfaces that the bolts pass through?



Would it be a good idea to cut some stress plates to go inside the bumper for the bolts to bolt through and spread the tress over a larger area?



Ideas/advice is appreciated.
