Rover 45 TD. Good, bad or just run away?

In the market for another motor. Was initially going for a Skoda Octavia but what with the potential for gearbox rivet failure and VNT turbo's playing up I decided it wasn't worth the risk, hassle and expense.



I'm likely to be running some delicious Bio (EN spec not SVO) and according to the chaps at the veg oil forums the 45 is a good candidate..



Have been reading elsewhere that the engines are underrated and bombproof but wanted to confirm that with people that have lived with a 45TD.
