this might seem like a stupid question

what is the thing in the boot for its right by the fuel tank and has a rubber dome cover,under this is bolt.

and is there a panel in the boot that you can get to the fuel pump through or will the tank have to be dropped i need a new fuel pump as mine isnt working,sorry to sound dumb but iv never owned a mg zr till now
