Could my Harmony radio not need a code?

I am planning to disconnect the battery tomorrow and thought I had better check the radio code was present. I can't find it of course but I did wonder if my radio has one.



The reason I am thinking it doesn't have one is that the manual says that when you turn it on it should say CODE right at the start.

Mine doesn't it just says 1053, or 693 or 92.7. I have never seen any mention of code.



It makes me think very late Harmonys like mine 2003, didn't have a code.



I suppose there is only one way to find out but wondered if anyone had a positive yes or no answer.
