Water Pipes: How Old are yours?

About a year ago I decided to clean up the external peeling paint & minor rust on the water pipes of my 2003 TF 160. It's covered 53k mls: half of that covered by myself in just 3 yrs of ownership.

After the clean up I sprayed with waxoyl based sealant to protect from further external corrosion.

As the car is now 11 yrs old, I wondered just how long could I expect these pipes to last before I have to replace them?

What is the typical age when failure occurs?
