Brand new owner engine size query

Hi everyone, I have become the proud owner of an 02 MGF today (yay!) but I have a query. When I got the log book it very definitely states 1.6 and when I put the reg in some insurance comparison site it also brought up 1.6. However some would only let me put 1.8 in the search or would only bring back 1.8 and when I look at the engine there is a little plate that says on it 1.8 and the manual says 1.8? So errrr what size engine do I actually have? Thanks in advance. Fee
