97 Rover 5 door 220 SDi e* reception number for registration in France
Hi all,
I was wondering whether anyone could save my rover from an untimely demise. I have moved to France and my french insurance is adamant that I have to put french plates on it to be able to keep my car insured with them. Whilst I know that this is the law, this does put me in a corner.
To be able to do this I need to have a certificate of conformity, which I can only find through: http://ift.tt/1sLKI1J . Unfortunately, since my car is pre-1998 they cannot provide this document.
Now, I could actually get the required documents/plates from the DREAL in france, but for that I need to know the car's 'Type Mine' or in the UK 'e* reception number'. Does anyone know this, as I am sure there are not many variants of the mkIII 1997 rover 220 SDi (5 door).
I don't see many other options besides:
- obtaining a certificate of conformity (so far impossible)
- obtaining the 'Type Mine' number or the 'e* reception number' (so far impossible)
- Insuring the car with a different, more tolerant french insurer (any advice gladly accepted)
Does anyone have any help for me, as the car is still running great and I would be very saddened to lose her for some stupid administrative reason.
Cheers,
Dan
