Hang on a minute.....

The Beast was having the HG replaced by the garage I bought it from (it was suspect). I paid extra to have the timing belt, water pump and tensioner replaced at the same time.



However, I've just wondered how the timing belt could have been changed if the alternator belt hasn't been removed for years (certainly hadn't been done in the last 300 miles!!). I'll take the cover off later to check, but am I correct that the alternator belt needs to be removed to change the cambelt?



Also supicious that they didn't change a £5 belt that was on it's way out.....



Is there any way to tell if the pump and tensioner have been changed? Don't want to get into major work, but happy to remove the upper plastic cover.



Also makes me wonder the th HG itself was done........
