hiya all prob with lumpy running k-series

I own mgzs 120 but recently hgf happen...stripped it down cleaned everything..replaced with mls gasket etc...just got her running but a wee bit lumpy..any ideas as timing marks seem to be correct..with help from brother of course! as he was a vm in the army for max period of time and is familiar with k-series engines on landrovers..help would be appriciated cheers :)
