Mot failure...emissions...

Took my TF to its mot on Saturday and it failed on the emissions, only on lambda reading though.



The garage was saying it's the cat. readings were 1.8 when it should max out st 1.3, all other readings were way below max.



What I don't get is the garage was saying it's the cat due to the sensor only turning the EML on, but I know we have a pre and post cat. Obviously would prefer to replace the sensor instead of the cat, but is it worth it or is it defiantly the cat? Car sounds fine and as far as I can tell the cat doesn't rattle.
