Will a chip ruine my reliability?

I shy'd away from tuning, as Ive spent the good part of the last 3 years repairing an alfa 156 diesel, only to give up and get rid of the moneypit.



Now Im running a BMW engine ZT, im enjoying not having to repair it every five minutes!



A chip, on a 156 woud result in chewed clutches and driveshafts.



How well does the ZT cope with an extra 30bhp?



Im thining of a Ronbox or similar although Ive seen some £150 ecu remap offers going about - is it worth it? Or will I affect my reliability
