Head Gasket
Hi Everybody,
My father owns a facelift Rover 75. 3 months ago, it had its head gasket replaced. The fans have been coming on ever since whilst traveling, even with the A/C off. Last night the car overheated and we had to pull over. We called the RAC who discoverd that the 3 way hose near the top of the radiator had completely sheared. After temporarely fixing the hose, he descovered that exhaust fumes were coming back through the expantion tank and through the heater. He followed us after to see how far we could get and within a few 100 yards, we overheated again. He beleived that the head gasket had gone again. He asked if the head had been skimmed when the gasket was replaced. We looked at the invoice and there was nothing about skimming, however there was something about a redress. Does this have anything to do with the skimming ?
